What is the Turn Keeper? (Found here for purchase)
A fully wooden mechanical system capable of not only tracking your groups initiative, but also the combat round, all while looking like a true piece of art. It boasts planetary and standard gear systems to synchronize and display this information.
Or, in other words, it has cool spiny gears that work together to let your players know whose turn it is while keeping track of the round of combat.
What do you use to keep track of monsters and players?
Each Turn Keeper will include a set of magnetized tokens to affix to the tracker.
The standard set is 22 magnetic tokens and comes with every Turn Keeper and also sold separately. This includes:
- 15 monster tokens (see below)
- 5 PC tokens
- and 2 blank tokens so you can write on them with a dry erase marker.
The artwork and design of our tokens is completely original. We used the same artist through the entire design process to keep a consistent aesthetic for the overall product.
The monsters we have available are as follows:
Elf, Cultist, Demon, Human, Rat, Mind Flayer, Orc, Wolf, Giant Spider, Kobold, Dragon, Dwarf, Undead, Elemental, and Goblin. The picture below has them displayed in this order.
We also offer battlefield tokens.
These tokens are thinner and are used to keep track of everything on the battlefield. The standard set of these is 66 tokens and their artwork matches the designs that are used on the Turn Keeper itself. That way combat is straight forward and easy.
The standard set of battlefield tokens breaks down like so:
- 8 Goblin and Kobold Tokens
- 2 Mind Flayer, Demon, and Dragon Tokens
- 6 Orc and Wolf Tokens
- 4 Elemental, Elf, Cultist, Human, Undead, Dwarf, Rat, and Giant Spider Tokens
That sounds awesome. What else is available for it?
We have also created The Turn Keeper 'Keeper'.
This stunning box is created by first taking a single piece of wood for the floor and lid. The secret to this wrap style wood is live hinges (or lattice hinges) which are a series of strategically positioned and highly accurate cuts.
Not only is this case stunning, it has storage for the magnetic and battlefield tokens that accompany The Turn Keeper and its stand.
This box is an option you can select in the tiered rewards to the right of the page. If you want one of these cases make sure you select the correct tier. We highly recommend one of these per Turn Keeper to keep your device protected from rogue cats and mishaps.

How did the Turn Keeper come about?
We began this project for our D&D group. Like many, we have a continuous problem with distraction and interruption. Distractions during fights interrupt the flow of the game. Basically, we wanted a logical fix to the classic "whose turn is it??" problem.
To address this, we searched for the best initiative tracker out there....and were sadly disappointed with the results. While effective, the current trackers are lack luster to say the least. Papers over the DM screen, flagpole style trackers, etc. These methods work, but they leave something to be desired.
So we set out on a mission of designing a moving mechanical system. Something stylish and game-changing. We played for ages figuring out exactly how to fit this piece together. Countless iterations later, we found the precise gear tooth shape for our new product.
